    Description: This paper contributes to research on “postponement” strategy in the context of a global production–distribution system of an automobile manufacturer. It proposes a model that integrates multiple considerations germane to global supply chains. Postponement is important in this context because it is necessary to consider international transfers and tariffs, and it is important to appropriately account for the impact of postponement on total costs. Consideration of several key variables such as shipping point, customs tariff, and cost differences between countries is essential to derive full benefits from postponement strategy in global supply chains.     Description: Firms need to find a proper fit between their own information technology (IT) capabilities and IT systems in order to enhance performance. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to examine the moderating effect of certain e-procurement system types on the relationship between IT capabilities and firm performance. Moderated regression analysis is used to test for interaction effects of IT capabilities, including collaboration capability and dynamic capability, and e-procurement system types including, E-market and Extranet. Data of 142 Korean manufacturing firms are collected and used in the analysis. There is a stronger effect when relationships between IT capability and firm performance are considered with the involvement of other resource such as e-procurement system type.     Description: This study aims to identify the factors of complexity due to the globalization of supply chain and to measure the management efficiency of the factors which cause the supply complexity within supply chain. This study conducts an analysis to utilize linear programming and bootstrapping, targeting 12 Korean companies among the selected companies in Fortune Global 500. According to the results from the analysis, 4 companies with relatively high management efficiency of the factors which cause the supply complexity and 8 companies with relatively low management efficiency are found. The research findings reveal that public companies with the small number of products, factories, and providers relatively manage the supply complexity compared to private companies. Moreover, this study suggests projection point as a direction for relatively less efficient companies and excess quantity of input which should reduce for its achievement. This study also has an implication to establish a further standard of efficiency to manage the supply complexity for companies.

    Description: Polyethyene glycol (PEG) is widely used as a dispersing agent and can also be used to prevent the adsorption of ingredients on the surface of silica. From the XRD results, PEG that was used as the dispersing agent on the SBR/organoclay compound filled with silica and carbon black (CB) was intercalated between the organoclay layer. Additionally, the interactions with the PEG differed depending on whether 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) or N,N-dimethyldodecylamine (DDA) were used as clay modifiers. When PEG was added, the Tg of the SBR/silica/APTES-MMT compound increased through the formation of hydrogen bonds between the ether linkages of PEG and the hydroxyl groups of APTES. For the SBR/silica/DDA-MMT compound with PEG, slippage occurred between the silicate, and DDA because of the alkyl chain of DDA. The SBR/silica/APTES-MMT/CB compound with PEG exhibited the highest Tg value and the highest bound rubber content, with high modulus values at 100 and 300%. The SBR/silica/DDA-MMT/CB compound had the best properties in terms of the wet skid resistance and the rolling resistance.

The efficiency of different methods is verified through simulation for 27 cases. Analysis of the results reveals that the efficiency of row classification of an airplane increases as the number of airplane seats increases in the case of identical numbers of passengers and travel time of baggage. When a passenger arrives before his or her baggage, classifying the baggage into business class and economy class has the highest efficiency increase. Finally, the method of classifying the baggage into each row has the highest efficiency increase when baggage arrives before its owner.     Description: This study analyses the efficiency in the operation of coffee franchises in Korea with the aim to find out what the consumers think is important in the selection of coffee franchises and what factors meet their demands. Towards this goal, first, a data envelopment analysis (DEA) is performed to calculate the relative efficiency of top six coffee franchisors in Korea using input and output factors obtained from the financial statements of the coffee franchisors. Then, a survey was conducted among Korean coffee consumers and analysed using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and importance-performance analysis (IPA), respectively. Finally, the IPA matrix was applied to map the attributes and suggest future strategies. The results found that the coffee franchise Ediya that enjoyed the largest growth in the past 5 years was also the most efficient franchise in terms of relative efficiency gained from DEA.     Description: This study analyzes the efficiency of supply chain quality management (SCQM) by grouping buyers and suppliers and conducting an empirical analysis of aspects affecting SCQM efficiency from the supplier’s perspective. Two stages of data analysis were conducted: () classify buyer and supplier efficiency by means of data envelopment analysis (DEA) and sort the data results into a matrix and () conduct a statistical analysis to verify influential aspects. The results depict the average value of Group I to be higher than that of Group II, while the average value of Group IV was found to be much lower than that of Group III. In addition, specific aspects have a significant impact on certain groups: Groups I and II are affected by infrastructure, delivery of quality, talent development, and risk management in that order; Groups II and III are likewise influenced by risk management, talent development, and delivery of quality, whereas Groups III and IV are influenced by talent development, delivery of quality, and risk management in that order.
